O'Haire 2002- Deep in BS

First and foremost please let me apologize for the extreme delay between columns. It is not a good reason, but my excuse is, well, I just haven't been very inspired lately. In dire need of escaping from my life, as I know it, I decided to dig deeper and salvage at least a tidbit of inspiration. Alas, I found it. Hope you enjoy it.

My friends, we are on the eve of Sean's one-year debut on OVW TV. Here is a time line of some of the highpoints.

*December 1, 2001 - OVW TV debut. Sean was introduced by Kenny Bolin as the newest member of Bolin Services and the man with the body of a Greek god! Boy that King calls 'em like he sees 'em. He was also appointed as BS Security Chief, bumping Mr. Black, long-time BS'er and Security Chief from his position.

*January 2, 2002 - SEANTHONG!!!!!

In a match against David Flair, OVWebmistress Miss Pamela reported that while being distracted by Jerome Croney, Sean neglected his opponent for a minute giving Flair the opportunity to roll Sean into a schoolboy by grabbing his trunks. Much to the delight of female fans a black thong was revealed!

*March 9, 2002 - The tension between Black and O'Haire had escalated to the point of, well . . . they just needed to go at it once and for all! Kenny Bolin set up a match between the two, which would decide the official Head of Security for BS. In a TV segment Bolin stood between these two men explaining the rules and the reward. He insisted that it be a clean fight and asked the men to swear on "Bolin's honor." Black agreed, but somewhat reluctantly. Bolin then asked O'Haire. O'Haire was very reluctant, smirked, huffed and puffed, rolled his eyes, and finally said, "Whatever, Bolin"s honor." His tone implied the ridiculousness of using the two words together. It was quite funny. At the end of the segment Sean leaned in towards Black, balled up his fists, tightened his muscles, and growled. OMG!! If you don"t get any other OVW video you HAVE to get this one. Twenty Bucks! That is only about 65 cents a day for 1 month. (31 day month)

*April 20, 2002 - For a few months David Flair had been a thorn in the side of BS, especially Prototype. On many occasions BS pummeled David Flair. In a rare show of compassion Leviathan (Dave Batista) saved Flair from further humiliation and pain inflicted by BS. For this he was placed in a match against O'Haire. The match was coined as the "Battle of the Giants" (I like to call it, "Put me in the middle and you have a sandwich!"). Naturally O'Haire lost due to interference by Synn.

Throughout May the feuding continued with Mr. Black and David Flair. Jerome Croney could not decide whose side he wanted to be on. In the meantime Prototype lost the title to Nova. Sean dyed his hair red.

*June 2002 - Special Non-title match - Sean O'Haire Vs Nova

*uly 2002 - Sean handcuffed to TE2's Matt "Tiny" Morgan. "They" said Morgan was the "only man in OVW Sean had to look up to." " I say, Whatever! The bigger they are . . .

Summer wrapped up after a series of sizzlin shows at KY Six Flags, which included a combination of OVW and WWE talent. Sean was pitted in some great matches including a tag team match against Jerry " The King" Lawler.

Then everything just seemed to stop. OVW TV action basically came to a standstill with the loss of Mrs. Cornette. Proper grieving time took place. In the meantime the New Davis Arena was finalized. The grand opening was a success, except for a few minor violatons and what not. Just a brief delay and then back to the action.

Then . . . Ouchie!!

O'Haire injured groin! First news, it is not torn. (Screeching tire sound) Then, It is torn. Out for 6 weeks, which ended up being more like 7 or 8 weeks. Hopefully it is fully healed.

Now it is November and he is back on OVW TV and doing WWE house shows. At first Raw and now Smackdown.

Mr. O'Haire has had quite an eventful first year at OVW. He has been given the opportunity to improve on the physical and mental aspects of the game. He has seized that opportunity and ran with it.

From various articles and interviews it seems to me that Sean very much appreciates this opportunity. For the fans OVW dark matches and WWE house shows might be frustrating and it might seem that his talent is going unnoticed and unappreciated. However, from his perspective these might be useful tools for him as a rising superstar. As fans we should try to consider these things. Sean has competed successfully for one full year in OVW. He is constantly being evaluated. The fact that he is still there means that "they" think he has what it takes. He is also beginning to be a part of WWE house shows more consistantly. That is a good thing. Hey, at least we know where he is and what he is doing. We know that he has what it takes. It is just a matter of time.

Overall it has been a busy and productive year for Sean O'Haire. His position in BS has certainly given him opportunity to develop his character, be it a heel. The coming year can only be even more successful. Considering he was pushed through WCW PowerPlant and he has only been a pro for 3 years, I think he is doing pretty darn good. Pro Wrestling is a lot different than Toughman, martial arts, or boxing.

Just a few general comments about the state of wrestling today. I was more satisfied with the last PPV than I have been in quite a long time. The elimination chamber match was pretty exciting. Overall I am glad to see the integration of former WCW stars and the utilization of newer and mid-card talents. It is time for some fresh faces, stories, and moves. I personally am really impressed with the development of the female story lines. I am really happy to see some "real rastlin" going on with the gals. I hate that cat fight, hair pulling crap. Women can fight too! Cheers to Trish Stratus for the effort, determination, and hard work she has put into learning how to wrestle. She certainly gets my vote for most improved. Victoria is crazy, but she is good. She plays a great psycho. Brock Lesnar finally impressed me when he hit the Big Show with an F5. Wow-ee! 3-Minute warning does not impress me and I am certain that Rico stole those silver snake skins from Trish. Get him girl!

Finally, I feel it necessary to address the issue of our well wishes. Everyday I check my mail box, my e-mail, and SOC in hopes of some response to pass on to you guys or news that you guys have received something. I would assume that any official response would come through OVW and/or Miss Pamela. That is how we would know it to be authentic. As we are all skeptical of undocumented information. I too hope that we get something. Even a brief thank you would be great. That of course is assuming that Sean really received the package from his friend(?). I hope he did. For now we will have to try and be patient.

As we head into the holiday season lets all try to be hopeful and positive about life. Enjoy this time with our family, friends, and those we love. Often this season brings sadness and pain, but I believe that hope, faith in whatever, and love can see us through. I feel that there are some difficult issue coming upon my family soon and I myself will be drawing upon those things: hope, faith, and love, to get me through. If there is one thing I know for sure it is that life is too short. It is too precious. We all think we have forever, but we donā€™t. We all have our thoughts and views about everyone and everything. There are things we don't like, but sometimes we have to make exceptions or risk losing things very important to us. When you love, you love unconditionally. Some things just aren't worth losing that love over. While this might sound like a bunch of blah blah. I am certain that some of you will be able to find these thoughts in your own mind and lives. You know what I am talking about.
