Optimist vs. Pessimist

Finally, someone did an article on Sean. Not only are the photos in the September edition of Pro Wrestling Illustrated to drool over, but the article is great too. If you can't stop looking at the pictures long enough to read the article let me just summarize it for you. Dan Murphy titled his article, "The Maturation of Sean O'Haire: A Step Backward Moves Him Closer to WWF Glory". Murphy points out that Sean was on his way to the top with WCW. He said that Sean had a fresh, unusual look and a natural charismatic that when combined with his uncommon agility for his size, add in some experience and a push would make him the a star. However, that has not happened and Murphy points out that the demotion he received must have been difficult, perhaps disappointing. On this matter Sean responded in his usual intense way with extreme honesty. He admitted that it was a difficult transition. He said that being sent to OVW put me in my place, it also gave me a chance to slow down and have fun with the sport.

Murphy provided further in site into Sean's character at OVW. He said,

"In his new capacity as an enforcer for the arrogant Prototype, O'Haire has an explosive temper. Even when he stands silently at Prototype's side, O'Haire glowers, he paces, he looks over his shoulders like a hungry tiger just waiting to tear into whatever prey might venture into his line of vision. In a business in which personality is perhaps the most essential job requirement, O'Haire has become one of OVW's most entertaining characters.

Murphy and O'Haire make further comment on the change in his wrestling style. He has learned to use his size and strength to his advantage, instead of wrestling in the style of a high flying lightweight. He is also trying to incorporate his martial arts and shootfighting training. Other OVW talent are impressed by his performance and add their comments. It is also revealed that he will be given a more prominent storyline at OVW. He has been doing a lot of studying of tapes and working very hard. I found it very interesting that he said that he watched some wrestling when he was a kid, but he was never a real big fan. Now, more than ever, he is determined to succeed in the business. He confidently stated that "I'm a much better wrestler today than I used to be, and I have high expectations for myself."

I really enjoyed this article. I highly recommend you read it. The best part was getting to hear Sean's perspective on being in OVW and his career objectives. Like many Sean O'Haire fans I am confident that he will succeed. It might take longer for him to be where he wants to be, but he will get there. It will be worth the wait.

The amount of press and positive comments from current and former co-workers ( i.e. Kevin Nash - He made many positive comments in the recent past) that Sean has received as of late fills us with much hope and we are very optimistic about his return to WWE TV in the very near future. However, the comments from good old JR and some fan appraisals of his performance at recent house shows, conflicts with that optimism and instills a sense of pessimism. Not in his fans, but in his critics. Only the slightest pessimistic twinge exists among O'Haire fans. That pessimism only relates to show soon we get to see him on TV weekly, not in his ability or chances of doing so. For we know that he will. It is just a question of when. once again let me reiterate, WE ARE WILLING TO WAIT.

So let me end by saying that the pessimists are fools, because the optimist know the truth. Sean O'Haire is a warrior. He is strong, ambitious, determined, confident, and above all, patient. In OVW Sean is gaining experience and character. He already has the physical requirements. When all is said and done he will have the in ring psychology, smooth transition in movement, and a fully developed character. He will be completely ready and the wrestling world better be ready for him. The optimist, his fans, are ahead of the game because we are ready.

We are behind in 100+ percent.
